My President is Black

A black man as president something that growing up I was told was impossible, it would NEVER happen. Now in 2008 the impossible became possible. This will be marked as one of the most significant moments in African American History hands down. It gives the youths and young adults of our race an option other than becoming a professional athlete, actor, actress, or rap artist, but the possibility of becoming the president of the United States. Sure President Obama is a black man and that is great for our people but his educational background, senatorial experience, political views on issues as in the economy, war, education, taxes and many others involving the United States makes him more than qualified . I hope that people will not take for granted having a black president because as a people we have to do our parts to ensure that this decision is not looked upon as one that should be in question. We cant let this become an army of one, Obama can not do it all single handedly, it will take a united effort from our people as a whole. Lets not just be satisfied that we have a black president, let us look for more doors to open and more opportunities to explore.

If Mos Def Were President

And now a brief word from our sponsor... The election results are currently being calculated, for Senator Obama to be victorious he needs 270 electorial votes. I wont speculate on anything until its official (Who am I fooling) its looking mighty good. Remember its Obama For all Mankind.

Take a look at what Mos Def would do if he had the opportunity to become President of The United States.

We Talking Bout PRACTICE!!!

On the Eve of the 2008 Presidential Election the Denver Nuggets and Detroit Pistons make what is sad to be another blockbuster trade. One of my favorite players of all time Allen Iverson has been traded to the Pistons for Chauncey Billups, Antonio McDyess, and Cheikh Samb. Many reporters have already said that this may not be a long term deal for the Pistons, Allen Iverson will make $21 million this year and will be a free agent after the season. The trade to me gives the Pistons a better chance at possibly meeting the Boston Celtics in the eastern conference finals at seasons end. The main reason the Pistons made the move is to free up space to possibly acquire better talent in 2010, possible players include LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and DeWayne all of who's contracts will soon expire. We will see how the trade benifits or hinders each teams success for the remainder of the season. Allen Iverson is still THE ANSWER!!

Juan Dixon Back With Wiz Kids

The Washington Wizards opened training camp today at Virgina Commonwealth University (VCU). Newly acquired/local hero/former wizard Juan Dixon is back for another go round with the team. Dixon has signed a one year partially guaranteed contract and has to make the team out of camp. But with Gilbert Arenas Out for the first month of the season Dixon should get a lot of opportunities to prove his value to the coaching staff. Personally I think that this is a contract year for Dixon. The former Terp guard is a hard worker both on the offensive and defensive end as well as a great teammate. Keep your eyes on the Wizards and Dixon all season long at nba.com or catch several nationally televised games.

"Obama 08" (The Great Debater)

At 9 o'clock tune into the debate between presidential candidates Barack Obama and John Mccain. Im curious to hear what each candidate has to say about the current state of the economy and how they propose we fix these problems because in less then 2 months this will be one if not the main concerns for the elected President.

$700 Billion Rescue Mission

With time to research the economic issues questions have risen from the proposed $700billion rescue attempt proposal.

1. Were does the $700 billion come from?
2. In what impact will this crisis have on the economy in the future if the proposed plan fails?
3. Is $700 billion a guess or an accurate amount?
4. How will my generation (college students/the future) benefit or suffer from the after affects of this rescue or failure attempt?

These are just a few questions that I have come up with about the future of the economy as we continue to slide into a recession.

Check out what the experts say is at stake below.
